Superintendent, Chase Yarbrough, and crew continue to make headway on a 50-acre expansion project at the Miami Dade Landfill.
Over the last couple of weeks, COMANCO and their subcontractors have begun installing the electrical & structural components for the leachate riser pads at 2 of 5 subcells for the Cell 5 expansion.
This scope of work has taken a tremendous amount of coordination between COMANCO and the electrical and concrete subcontractors to work together and around each other meanwhile keeping up with all required inspections for this Miami Dade landfill.
COMANCO has to grade out and compact the subgrade for these pads as well as dig the trenches for the conduit to run from the existing site utility power pole and from station to station. The electricians have installed aluminum/PVC conduit and various size ground wire to power the pumps at the respective riser stations.
Meanwhile, the concrete subcontractor has formed & poured over 50 CY of concrete for the footers, walls & slabs at these two stations.
Great job team! Work continues to be coordinated effectively and safely!
