COMANCO’s crew, led by Superintendent Martin Calderon, has made some significant progress on a Louisiana landfill containment system. Next, the team will be installing several different types of geosynthetics for this Louisiana Landfill.
A layer of geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) is installed on the bottom layer, a layer of smooth liner on the floor and a layer of textured liner on the slopes. On top of the liner will be 330mil geocomposite, 270mil geocomposite, and a layer of 300mil geocomposite. All these geocomposite layers are to keep the landfill leachate safely contained.
