COMANCO’s first crew arrived on site in southern Louisiana in April 2016 to unload material and prepare the project area. The install crew, led by Superintendent Martin Calderon, began work on the first phase of the project in May of 2016. At the completion of Phase I, they had installed, conducted quality control testing of, and spark tested, over 72 acres of textured white conductive liner.
Between Phase I and Phase II a smaller repair crew maintained the site by cleaning liner, compacting anchor trench, and conducting repairs and site work when requested by the customer and site contractor.
Once weather conditions were amenable for the install crew to return, Superintendent Arnulfo Martinez and team began work on Phase II in March of 2018; which consisted of over 74 acres of textured and over 35 acres of smooth conductive liner!
As the risk of inclement weather increased COMANCO mobilized Martin and his crew back to the site in January 2019 and began 24-hour operations with light plants and dedicated safety personnel. At project completion, in February 2019 the combined crews had installed over 182 acres (almost 8 million square feet!) of white conductive liner.
