One of COMANCO’s goals as an industry leader is education. Teaching people about what we do also teaches them the importance of environmental responsibility. Reaching the next generation has been the crucial focus of these efforts. We believe in inspiring young people who are entering the workforce to find a fulfilling career. Job Fairs are the perfect opportunity to show students how many opportunities they have to make a difference at COMANCO.
Our education efforts have allowed us to connect with many students at school-sponsored functions geared toward career searching. Most recently, COMANCO went to Auburndale High School’s College and Career Day. Superintendent Gerardo Ruiz and Shujwana Lamy attended the career fair to represent COMANCO. Employees from many other local companies exhibited with them for the chance to connect with the students. Their inquiring minds wanted to know about educational requirements, the location of job sites, and, of course, the pay! During the event, many students stopped by, and Gerardo was able to share his valuable perspective as a tenured Superintendent who started as a Laborer and worked his way up to his current position.
