COMANCO Prepares New Landfill Cell in North Florida.
COMANCO is preparing a new landfill cell in North Florida to protect the environment. The cell is an addition to a C&D (Construction and Demolition) Facility to create more sustainable storage space for our client.
The crew prepared the subgrade on the nine-acre site with 1,000 tons of gravel supplied by Conrad Yelvington. (Did you know 1,000 tons of gravel is about the same weight as 100 elephants?) Their next step is installing Geosynthetic material provided by SOLMAX and Pipe materials from ISCO Industries.
This system is designed to contain the rainwater that comes in contact with the debris. Then, the water is pumped to a sump location where it can be safely moved. Altogether, this process helps prevent contaminants from affecting the surrounding environment.
Despite challenges, our crew, led by Superintendents Bill Newman and Tommy Terry, have made significant progress. The team has diligently engaged in dewatering and excavation activities amid heavy rains to prevent weather delays.
Are you in need of efficient, sustainable containment solutions? With COMANCO’s experience and expertise, you can fully leverage the benefits of your geosynthetic system. Contact us today for a free quote on your next project.
