COMANCO is nearing completion of the EarthWork at a Landfill in South Florida
COMANCO is excited to announce that our crew is nearing completion of the earthwork at a landfill in South Florida. This project aims to prepare the subgrade for the liner together with toe drain installation. As well as installing a protective cover with stormwater drainage. Currently, we have graded 60% of the slope for the liner and toe drain installation.
One of the significant benefits of this project is isolating waste from the environment by directing leachate to the correct location. Throughout this project, our crew has faced some challenges, such as the long slope with significant excavation of trash. We have overcome these challenges by expediting the grading of the slope to allow the third-party liner installer to come in.
This project is unique for COMANCO because we are completing the earthwork while another company installs the liner. We have showcased our values of Safety, Quality, and Service by working against all odds to complete the project on time.
Furthermore, the gravel we are using on this project is procured from Conrad Yelvington, and the Geotextile and Geocomposite used are from Skaps Industries. The job site is originally 12.7 acres, but we are working on 10 acres due to the client’s weather window and waste disposal schedule.
We would like to recognize Juan Morales for his significant progress and contributions to this project. He has stepped up as a Foreman and made it happen under the supervision of Superintendent William Newman. Overall, we are proud of the crew’s progress and look forward to them successfully completing this project.
