Over the last several weeks, COMANCO has been working on a 10-acre new landfill cell expansion project in Central Florida. Superintendent Matt Carroll and the earthwork team have recently completed constructing the cell perimeter and have shifted focus to grading stormwater channels.
Superintendent Gerardo Ruiz and the liner team are making a push to finish the secondary layer of GCL and HDPE liner later this week. Once the second layer is complete, COMANCO can begin deploying the primary geosynthetic layer allowing for protective cover placement and leachate collection pipe welding to kickoff.
To-date, nearly 1-million square feet of geosynthetics have been installed on this new cell expansion.
