A COMANCO crew led by Superintendent Arnulfo Martinez continues to make progress on a new Central Florida Landfill cell.
The scope of work consists of lining a new 15-acre cell with a five-layer system consisting of a Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL) bottom, a secondary 60-mil HDPE Textured Geomembrane layer, a secondary Geocomposite layer, a primary 60-mil HDPE Textured Geomembrane layer, and a primary Geocomposite layer. The scope also includes extrusion welding over 3,000 LF of tie-in to the existing cell. Overall the crew has installed to date, almost 670,000 SF of GCL, over 775,000 SF of 60-mil HDPE Textured Geomembrane, and more than 561,000 SF of Geocomposite. The crew continues to stay ahead of schedule while also maintaining an excellent safety culture in the process.
