Over the past several months, COMANCO has been hard at work on a landfill expansion project in Central Florida. Supervisor Justino Macedo has been leading the crew as they make a final push to complete the project over the next few weeks. Just this week, the team was able to complete the concrete leachate riser pad in two successful pours and complete the odor mitigation system around the cell perimeter. The odor mitigation system consists of 2,200LF of 4-inch perforated HDPE pipe wrapped in geocomposite, over 70,000SF of 60mil HDPE liner and four odor mitigation manifolds. The crew will be able to focus on final grading the protective cover and perimeter berms as well as install the pump station components.
