COMANCO Completes Liner & Earthwork on Landfill Project in Arcadia, Florida

We are thrilled to announce the completion of the liner and earthwork, marking another significant milestone in our journey toward success.
This project aimed to provide the landfill with a new cell for efficient and responsible trash disposal. As we near the final stage of construction, including sod placement, leachate station piping, and the North perimeter road, we reflect on the remarkable teamwork and dedication that made this accomplishment possible.
Liner Superintendent Gerardo Ruiz and earthwork Superintendent Jeremy Giles led the charge and expertly coordinated their efforts. Altogether, we ensured seamless integration of liner and earthwork operations, thanks to the combined expertise of our team. This enabled us to maintain site control and strictly adhere to our timeline.
As a result, we successfully completed this project within the scheduled timeframe.
Throughout the project, we utilized a range of high-quality materials to ensure the longevity and effectiveness of the landfill cell. This includes 463,914 SF of 60mil Textured liner and 16,185 SF of Geosynthetic Clay liner from Agru. Also, 479,349 SF of 250mil 8oz Double Sided Geocomposite from Skaps and 34,420 CY of Protective Sand Cover.
Comparatively, for the essential leachate station piping, we relied on HDPE SDR 17 4″ and 8′ pipes from ISCO and reliable Granite Rock from Conrad Yelvington. This careful selection of materials ensures the integrity and durability of the landfill system for years.
This project, spanning an impressive 10.42 acres, or approximately 453,895 SF, demanded meticulous attention to detail and a cohesive team effort. Thanks to the professionalism and dedication of our team, we can proudly say that we have not only met but exceeded our customer’s expectations.
