Beyond the Classroom: COMANCO Continues Its Leadership Journey at Mt. Charleston
What happens when leadership development takes you out of your everyday environment and pushes you beyond your comfort zone? In October, COMANCO’s Safety Coordinator, Stephanie Saint Vil, and Training Coordinator, Xiomarilys Feliciano-Munoz, had the opportunity to find out as they participated in the Breslin Strategies Leader Circle Retreat in the mountains of Mt. Charleston, Nevada. This unique experience highlights COMANCO’s ongoing commitment to employee leadership development, professional growth, and investing in future leaders.
And this was anything but an ordinary leadership training! Far from the traditional classroom, the breathtaking mountains became the setting for an experience filled with physical challenges, meaningful conversations, unexpected lessons, and opportunities for personal reflection. The altitude alone was a challenge, but the experience offered much more than a test of physical endurance.
At the heart of the retreat was a powerful message:

Throughout the experience, Stephanie and Xiomarilys had the opportunity to step away from their daily responsibilities, challenge their perspectives, and explore leadership in a completely different environment. Some lessons came through conversations, others through challenges, and a few through moments neither could have anticipated, because sometimes the most meaningful growth happens when we are willing to get a little uncomfortable.
Leadership Development Beyond Traditional Training
The Breslin Strategies Leader Circle Retreat provided more than just a change of scenery. It created an environment where participants could strengthen leadership skills, build trust, and gain new perspectives that can be applied both professionally and personally. Experiences like these reinforce the importance of continuous learning and demonstrate why leadership development often happens beyond the walls of a classroom.
