Progress Made On 5-Layer Geosynthetic System in Central Florida
Progress Made on 5-Layer System project in Central Florida, which aims to facilitate the secure disposal of Class 1 Waste. Superintendent Martin Calderon is leading the project, and the crew is currently working on the second layer of 60mil HDPE Textured Geomembrane on the West side of the cell, near the Sump Area. Additionally, they are welding to the existing tie-in on the South Side of the Existing Cell.
The installation crew has been hard at work, having installed over 656,920 SF of Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL), 1,320,670 SF of 60mil HDPE Textured Geomembrane, and 1,310,800 SF of Skaps Double Sided Geocomposite.
Despite challenging weather conditions, such as wind and rain, the installation crew is persistent and continues progressing.
