Over the past week, the COMANCO earthwork crew led by Superintendent Chris Sowers safely completed the installation of a 104’ box culvert and two 50’ headwall sections for the new 15-acre landfill cell expansion project in Central Florida.
A 110-ton crane was used to hoist the immense sections into place on the finish-graded lime rock base. This newly installed box culvert will allow stormwater to flow underneath, what will become, the Leachate Pump Station Pad for the new cell.
Safety Officer Todd Klementz was on site to aid in the safe lifting operation, and ensure that all crew members involved were maintaining great communication, eye contact, and awareness around the suspended loads.
COMANCO continues to show our dedication to SAFETY; being our #1 priority!
