COMANCO Project Managers and Superintendents attended a Productivity-Improvement Seminar hosted by FMI Corporation at the COMANCO’s corporate office. FMI Principal- Scott L. Kimpland offered tips on how to implement effective techniques to increase productivity on construction projects. The COMANCO managers participated in hands-on exercises and saw how much these techniques enhance the overall outcome of a project. Scott Harker, COMANCO Project Manager, shared that for him “the class reinforced the idea that bigger is not always better, and planning goes a long way in production. Communication is a big factor in managing a project from estimating to the field. Without communication it is hard to plan.” The day of training ended on a high note: all participants worked in groups to compete in an interactive bridge-building simulation project. As one of the participants, Project Manager Steve Harrison, said: “The FMI training class is one of those classes that I know I will always learn something from!”
