Progress Advances in Mississippi as COMANCO Continues Closure Turf Installation
Progress advances in Pascagoula, Mississippi, as COMANCO installs ClosureTurf over a 71-acre containment zone. COMANCO began Phase 1A in 2019 and presently makes progress on the third stage, Phase 1C. With the initial liner installed, the crew now lays ClosureTurf to supplement the integrity of the receptacle. ClosureTurf eliminates the need to maintain traditional sod and soil covers. Due to this convenience, it remains the latest method for capping landfills and other comparable sites.
So far, the team has installed over 2 million SF of ClosureTurf in Phase 1C. They will repeat a similar liner and turf installation process on the neighboring storage pond in order to complete the project.
