Over the past week, a COMANCO crew working at a gypsum stack in Central, FL completed the spillway of what will be the new stormwater drainage outfall area.
Led by Foreman Justino Macedo and Wayne Wilkinson, construction of this area began with the installation of a 9 ft. tall concrete weir wall to separate the new stilling basin from the spillway. The crew worked diligently to finish-grade the new ditches and slopes ahead of the installation of the 6” thick concrete uniform section mat. Finally, the spillway area was sodded and riprap was placed along the ditches to provide a stable lining to resist erosion control.
