COMANCO Collection Pond Installation In South Florida
COMANCO has completed the liner installation for a large-scale collection pond in Miami, Florida. Our team successfully installed 676,000 SF of 30mil PVC liner and 240 FT of 304 stainless steel Batten Bar. The materials cover a 15.52-acre collection area for stormwater.
Installing the 676,000 SF of 30mil PVC liner was a meticulous process that involved carefully laying out and seaming the liner to ensure a watertight barrier. The PVC liner, known for its durability and resistance to chemicals and UV rays, is an ideal choice for stormwater collection ponds as it provides a reliable and long-lasting solution.
Afterward, COMANCO utilized 240 feet of 304 stainless steel Batten Bar to anchor the PVC liner to the storm drain. The Batten Bar, known for its corrosion resistance and strength, was expertly installed to secure the liner in place. This is to prevent any potential liner movement during heavy rainfall or other environmental conditions.
While this crew faced several challenges, they met them head-on. They overcame situations such as large amounts of rain, which caused multiple slope washouts. With the help of Ramon Irizarry, the team cleaned out the first section of deployed liner and made all necessary repairs before Superintendent Carlos Garcia arrived on site.
