The scope of the earthwork crews’ work consisted of de-mucking all areas in and around the new cell limits, removing and installing reinforced concrete pipe and fabriform, gradation of the new cell’s subgrade and storm water ditches, installation of the leachate collection HDPE pipe, gravel, manhole and grading of the sand cover and turn-around pad on top of the 6 layer liner system.

The Liner crew arrived onsite October, 2014 and finished installing the 6 layer leachate collection system by December. The scope of the liner crew’s work consisted of installing the 2 layers of GCL, 60mil Geomembrane, and Geocomposite on top of the subgrade, and installing the primary and secondary sump collection boxes and pipe boots.

The crews, led by Superintendents Bill Newman and Arnulfo Martinez, Foreman Matt Carroll, Project Manager Dan McRae and Project Engineer Craig Stevenson did an excellent job of delivering a great project while ensuring no safety incidents.
