COMANCO has recently started geosynthetics installation for a new cell at a solid waste landfill in Bartow, FL.
For this turnkey project, COMANCO has been working since the first of May on the site work, leachate piping, and cell subgrade construction. The liner crew recently started the six-layer geosynthetic system comprised of two layers, each of geosynthetic clay liner (GCL), 60mil textured HDPE geomembrane and 275mil/330mil Geocomposite. The crew is currently battling the threat of daily rainstorms, trying to get the first two layers of material down to protect the subgrade beneath. With summer temperatures rising, the crew focuses on proper breaks and hydration to keep its safety focus.
