COMANCO Attends the Annual FPPC Spring Conference in Boca Grande, Florida.
Last week, COMANCO participated in the Florida Phosphate Political Committee (FPPC) Spring Conference amidst the stunning backdrop of Boca Grande, FL. Leading the delegation were COMANCO’s Mark & Christine Topp, Dan & Brooke McRae, and Thomas & Loreyn Raab. The three-day event unfolded at the Gasparilla Inn & Club on Gasparilla Island, a venue steeped in the rich history of Boca Grande and the phosphate industry.
Gasparilla Island, home to Port Boca Grande and its pioneering automatic transloader established in 1911, holds a special significance for the phosphate sector. For five decades thereafter, this state-of-the-art port facilitated uninterrupted phosphate shipments, underscoring its pivotal role in the industry’s history.
Throughout the conference, attendees had the opportunity to glean insights from keynote speakers hailing from various corners of Florida, notably featuring professionals deeply entrenched in the phosphate sector. The event also offered lighter moments, such as ‘Game Night’ on Thursday, featuring a convivial game of Bingo, while Friday night culminated in an Ice Cream Social and Casino Night, fostering camaraderie among participants.
Integral to the conference experience, COMANCO annually sponsors the Boca Boat Tour. This year, attendees embarked on a serene journey along Gasparilla Sound, indulging in a day of relaxation amidst natural splendors.
