COMANCO Begins New Cell Expansion Project

by

Over the past two weeks, COMANCO has been hard at work beginning the construction of a new cell expansion project for a Central Florida Landfill.

The new 15-acre cell will be composed of a six-layer geosynthetic system that includes nearly 3.5 million SF of GCL, Geomembrane, and Geocomposite. The Leachate Collection System (LCS) will consist of HDPE piping and nearly 7,500 tons of gravel wrapped in geotextile. A concrete Leachate Collection Pump Station will be constructed for the new cell allowing HDPE piping to tie into the existing force main.

Superintendent Chris Sowers and crew implemented erosion control measures, and have already completed the clearing and stripping of the new 15-acre cell. Throughout the upcoming weeks, the crew will continue to haul and place fill material inside the cell. COMANCO is looking forward to delivering another QUALITY product for our valued customer!
