Environmental construction demands practical execution, strict Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), and long-term compliance. In Q3, COMANCO advanced major earthwork, lining, and piping installations for municipal, industrial, and agricultural clients:
- Phosphate Gypsum Pond Closure (Florida): COMANCO is advancing the multi-stage closure of four gypsum stack pond areas in Central Florida. To overcome complex site constraints, the team designed a custom deployment sequence for high-strength geotextile and executed specialized equipment training to install over 4.4 million square feet of 60-mil HDPE liner, 1.28 million square feet of geocomposite, and 3,133 linear feet of HDPE gas and leachate piping with zero leaks during testing.
- Landfill Leachate Collection System (Puerto Rico): Our team prepared to install a three-layer geosynthetic containment system, combining a 60-mil double-sided textured HDPE liner, geocomposite, and Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL), totaling over 590,000 square feet to protect local groundwater sources.
- Gypstack Expansion Containment (Florida): Executing earthwork and liner installation for a 66-acre chemical and fertilizer facility expansion, including 270-mil geocomposite venting strips designed for long-term gas and fluid management.
- Power Plant Containment (Oklahoma): Completed fuel-oil containment liner repairs and installed over 900 linear feet of batten bar anchoring systems paired with custom HDPE safety ladders.
- Golf Course & Retention Pond Remediation (Florida): Replaced aging golf course pond liners near Hole 9 to support irrigation and aesthetics, and installed 106,552+ square feet of 40-mil PVC liner for residential wetland protection in Port St. Lucie.
- Agricultural Lagoon Protection (Florida): Completed geomembrane lining for a commercial dairy lagoon using smooth HDPE liner, subgrade gas venting, and specialized UV-resistant sandbag anchor paths.
