Earlier this week COMANCO was able to complete the secondary geosynthetic layer on a new landfill expansion project at the Desoto County Landfill in Arcadia, FL.
Superintendent Arnulfo Martinez and team installed over 1-million square feet of Geosynthetic Clay Liner, 60mil HDPE textured liner and tri-planar geocomposite for this layer. They recently began deployment of the primary 60mil HDPE and bi-planar layer.
Superintendent Matt Carroll and the earthwork team are currently installing horizontal gas vents and will be preparing the intermediate grade on the partial closure. Once the subgrade is approved, the liner team will jump over and cover the closure with 40mil LLDPE textured liner and bi-planar geocomposite.
Coordination is key on projects where numerous activities are ongoing to ensure each phase of a project is done safely and efficiently. Continue to check in as this project progresses with primary geosynthetics and leachate collection pipe in the future.
