This month, a group of skilled Fleet employees attended an instructor-led Professional Development training course in Tampa, FL. Equipment Technician Shannon Pate and Liner Equipment Technician Justin Grenke participated at the 4-day course called PLC Workshop: From Introduction to Application.
This training was full of hands-on demonstrations and practical lessons on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). It allowed the attendees to speak the PLC language, troubleshoot PLC Systems and components, and finally read and interpret the PLC ladder logic.
Fleet Supervisor Anthony Cole and Small Equipment Technician Earl Lynch joined the training on Day 3 to wrap up the PLC Programming and Applications portion of the training. This training took a deeper dive into writing common PLC programs as well as editing or creating PLC programs for their specific work applications. This training is intended to equip attendees with enough knowledge to apply what they have learned to their respective positions immediately.
