COMANCO and Trader Construction recently encountered an existing pond area that was extremely difficult to dewater. Because of this, the decision was made to use a dredge to remove the saturated material from the pond. Trader assisted the operation by creating a starter pit and helped move the dredge into the pit. The relocation was done yesterday and the dredge will likely start disposing of the material first thing tomorrow. The volume of material to be removed is roughly 1.3 million cubic yards and will take nearly 6 months of around-the-clock work to complete.
