Last week, COMANCO President Mark Topp and Vice President Christine Thomas received a special dinner invitation to meet Mag. Gruber Jr., son of AGRU founder Mr. Gruber, Sr. The evening began with dinner at Austin’s Ocean One in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. They were joined by several other industry professionals as they dined on the beach of one of the oldest summer resorts on the East Coast. Pawleys Island is known for its shoeless, carefree, laid-back lifestyle, which includes crabbing in the adjacent creeks, fishing, the stories of ghosts, the rope hammocks and the unspoiled, unsophisticated, casual, delightful stretch of wide beach and sand dunes.
The next day, Mark and Christine visited the AGRU America corporate headquarters located in Georgetown, SC. A special thank you to VP of AGRULINE & Textiles Melissa Grace and VP of Technical Marketing Chris Eichelberger who provided a tour of the Geomembrane, GCL, Geotextiles, and pipe fittings facilities. Seeing the process first-hand helps to understand how the material is made and to see how AGRU’s manufacturing processes are unique to others’ in the industry.
