Superintendent Martin Calderon and crew have moved on to their newest project, a landfill closure in Missouri.
Fifteen (15) acres of the landfill will be closed utilizing the ClosureTurf® system in lieu of a traditional soil closure. This three (3) component system will start with a layer of 50-Mil LLDPE Super GripNet® Liner to form the main barrier layer, as well as the drainage layer. Martin and crew are just over 75% complete with the liner component and now will jump back and begin installation of the second component the engineered synthetic turf over top of the liner. Once the engineered synthetic turf is in place the third component a specified sand infill will be blown in place and groomed to the specified depth which will provide additional UV protection and loadability.
