COMANCO Environmental is nearing completion of a landfill cell expansion project near San Diego, California. The geosynthetic system included the installation of over 450,000 SF of 40mil textured HDPE geomembrane, 60mil Super Gripnet HDPE geomembrane, reinforced GCL, 16oz non-woven geotextile, and 8oz non-woven geotextile. The project also includes the installation of a HDPE rain flap, seep shield, over 1,500 LF of welding to tie into an existing cell, and over 2,500 LF of extrusion welding the primary liner to the secondary liner.
Superintendent LeRoy Smith and a 10 man crew faced heavy rains and high winds while deployments of the geosynthetics were being installed. The crew is working hard to complete this project by the end of this week. Please enjoy some photos of the deployment process.
