A COMANCO crew led by Superintendent Jorge Barrantes is nearing the completion of the first phase of a gas mitigation project in South Florida. They safely worked to install PVC pipe headers and a trenchless venting system on a brownfield reuse project. The system is designed to divert potentially harmful gasses away from the building. The crew is also closing in on installing 10 acres of 60 mil HDPE liner that provides a gas barrier beneath the building that will be constructed on the site. The gas mitigation system that COMANCO is installing will allow the maximum use of land in an area where land has low availability.
