COMANCO has been working at ACMS Class I Landfill in Sumtervile, FL for a little over a month and has made great progress. The hard working team led by superintendent Arnulfo Martinez has installed 3 out of the 5 geosynthetic layers for sub-cell 1. The 5 layers consist of 1) geosynthetic clay liner, 2) secondary 60-mil HDPE geomembrane, 3) secondary geocomposite, 4) primary 60-mil HDPE geomembrane and 5) primary geocomposite. They have almost completed rock installation at the leachate collection trench for sub-cell 1 and have started installing the primary geomembrane layer. Progress on sub-cell 2 is close behind with deployment of the first 3 geosynthetic layers almost complete and rock installation underway at the leachate collection trench. The construction at the tank containment area has been progressing simultaneously with the 6 concrete tank pads now all poured.
