COMANCO Environmental is making progress at the Seminole Generating Station 5-acre Cell Expansion project in Palatka, FL. Presently, cell sub-grade is getting prepared for the geosynthetics installation. Nearly, 60,000 CY of structural fill is being imported from an on-site borrow pit to build the sub-grade up to design elevation.
COMANCO is making quick work of this with the use of 6 off-road haul trucks running continuously. Look for liner to start going down towards the end of this month. Superintendent, Bill Newman, and Foreman, Matt Carroll, are leading the efforts in the field while keeping Safety as the #1 priority.
