The COMANCO team continues to make excellent progress on the DeSoto County Landfill Expansion & Partial Closure project in Arcadia, FL.
Superintendent Matt Carroll and crew have hauled and placed over 28,000cy of coversand to protect the previously installed geosynthetics in the new landfill expansion and partial closure of the active landfill phase. Once graded, this material will allow for topsoil to be placed on the partial closure and make up the final layer on this phase before sod.
Along with the cover sand, the team has installed much of the extensive piping system within the expansion. From welding perforated HDPE pipe to the pipes corresponding river gravel and geotextile wrap allowing for efficient filtration of leachate from solids once the expansion is active.
Thank you, team, for all the continuing hard work and the constant effort to maintain safety as the number one priority!
