COMANCO Crew in Central Florida Nears Completion of Subgrade Preparation

by

An 11-man crew, led by Superintendent Chris Sowers, is nearing completion of the subgrade preparation for a new 15-acre cell expansion project at a Central Florida Landfill. In the upcoming week, the crew will make its final push to complete the remaining earthwork and exposure/cleaning of the liner tie-in to the existing active cell.

Liner Supervisor Carlos Garcia and crew will look to begin deployment of the five-layer geosynthetic system consisting of nearly 3.5 million SF of GCL, Geomembrane, and Geocomposite. COMANCO will subsequently start the installation of the HDPE piping, approximately 7,500 tons of gravel wrapped in geotextile, and pouring of the concrete pad for the Leachate Collection Pump Station.
