COMANCO Completes Methane Gas Management System in Hialeah, FL, that Ensures a Safe and Sustainable Environment
COMANCO is thrilled to announce the successful completion of a significant project in Hialeah, South FL—a Methane Gas Management System (MGMS) installation. This endeavor aims to provide a sustainable working environment for future tenants. Ensuring their safety and well-being within the new warehouse space. The completion of the project represents a significant step towards mitigating the risks associated with methane gas inhalation.
Led by Superintendent Billy Menard, the COMANCO crew has diligently worked on the Methane Gas Management System (MGMS). Deviating all methane gases below the liner through a series of geovent strips and PVC pipes. Notably, this system operates passively, utilizing header pipes and risers instead of an active system with a sump and blower skid. This innovative approach highlights COMANCO’s dedication to exploring eco-friendly and efficient solutions.
The successful implementation of the MGMS guarantees a safe and healthy environment for future occupants. Additionally, it highlights COMANCO’s dedication to protecting the environment and reducing the environmental impact of industrial developments.
Project Scope:
COMANCO would like to acknowledge the support and collaboration of its esteemed equipment vendors, suppliers, and other partners who contributed to the project’s success. Thanks to Mobile Modular for providing the material storage conex and TRI Environmental Inc.’s invaluable material testing services.
The project utilizes approximately 230,000 SF of Solmax liner, ensuring the effective containment of methane gases. Furthermore, 1,015 LF of 6″ SCH80 Harrington Industrial Plastic pipe and 6,270 LF of CETCO geovent strips were employed to facilitate the venting process.
Accordingly, the project’s job site spans an impressive 5.2 acres, with a building pad covering 226,698 SF. COMANCO takes great pride in the unique aspects of this project. Especially its passive system design, which distinguishes it from conventional approaches.
