Nevada Pond Liner System Completed Safely by COMANCO Crew
COMANCO recently completed a Nevada Pond Liner System installation led by Supervisors Pablo Medina and Carlos Garcia. The project involved installing a specialized four-layer geosynthetic containment system for a pond application that included a leak collection and removal sump area designed to improve environmental protection and long-term containment performance.
The Nevada Pond Liner System was carefully engineered to provide multiple layers of protection while supporting proper drainage and leak detection capabilities within the containment structure.
Nevada Pond Liner System Included Multiple Geosynthetic Layers
The Nevada Pond Liner System installed by COMANCO included several geosynthetic materials working together to create a durable and reliable containment solution.
The system included:
- 50,000 square feet of 24oz geotextile
- 25,000 square feet of 60mil drain liner
- 25,000 square feet of 80mil single-sided textured HDPE geomembrane
- Final protective layer of 24oz geotextile cushion material
- Three pipe boot installations
- Leak collection and removal sump area integration
Each layer serves an important purpose within the containment system. The geotextile layers provide cushioning and protection for the geomembrane, while the drain liner helps manage moisture and leak collection beneath the primary liner system.
Challenging Conditions Required Additional Safety Measures
Throughout the Nevada Pond Liner System project, the COMANCO crew faced difficult environmental conditions caused by smoke from nearby California wildfires.
Despite reduced air quality and daily smoke exposure, Supervisors Pablo Medina and Carlos Garcia remained focused on maintaining safe working conditions for every crew member onsite. Frequent safety reminders, proper PPE usage, and strong communication helped the team continue progressing safely while maintaining production schedules.
