Earlier this week, COMANCO was able to successfully complete a 10-acre layer of 60mil HDPE textured liner on a new landfill cell expansion project. Supervisor Gerardo Ruiz and crew were able to beat the weather and get this done ahead of schedule and under budget. On new cell expansion projects, it is crucial to get the first geosynthetic layer down in order to protect subgrade that has been prepared and approved. Superintendent Matt Carroll and the earthwork crew did an outstanding job staying ahead of the liner crew allowing the flow of the project to move along. With the HDPE liner down, COMANCO can continue installing the geocomposite drainage layer and begin hauling protective cover. Check back for progress on the hauling and the beginning of HDPE pipework throughout the cell.
