COMANCO Environmental has completed the first of five vertical pond expansions. The expansions tie into the existing ponds at the bottom and terminate in an anchor trench. The first pond contained over 150,000 SF of GCL, 300,000 SF of 60mil Smooth White Conductive HDPE Liner, and 300,000 SF of 200mil Geonet. Both layers of the 60mil White Conductive HDPE Liner were spark tested for leak location. The pond also included the installation of pipe boots, rub sheets, and 60mil Textured HDPE Liner.
Despite windy conditions, Superintendent Martin Calderon, Project Engineer Kip Thompson, and the 16 man crew worked safely and efficiently to complete the first pond expansion ahead of schedule. The crew has now begun working on the second pond. Keep up the hard work!
