COMANCO Environmental recently started a partial closure project on a Construction and Debris Landfill in Punta Gorda, FL. COMANCO completed the first portion of this closure earlier this year and has picked up where they left off.
Currently, a D-8 bulldozer is being used to cut the existing waste grade close to design elevations. An 850 GPS dozer is following behind fine grading to establish the final design waste grade. 2’ of protective final cover will then be imported and placed over the waste grade. Lastly, sod & HDPE stormwater downchutes will be installed for erosion control.
