COMANCO began a turnkey project in Palatka, FL which consists of a 19-acre closure and 4-acre cell expansion. COMANCO will be performing the earthwork, storm water management, underdrain piping, and road work in addition to geosynthetics.
Last week, the team began construction on the south side of the closure area installing a double barrel 36” culvert under the future road crossing. This will allow the guys to continue finishing the south flume (1 of 4 stormwater flumes to be built) while having access to the rest of the closure once the road base is complete. The team has done a good job coordinating construction with Owner on-site personnel while daily activities at the plant continue. Please see some pictures below of the team breaking ground last week.
