COMANCO Environmental has recently begun a heap leach expansion project at a gold mine near Lovelock, Nevada. The project consists of the installation of over 1.2 million SF of 80mil textured HDPE geomembrane, over 850,000 SF of reinforced GCL, and 345,000 SF of geotextile. The scope also includes over 6,500 LF of tie-in to existing geomembrane. All geosynthetics are being deployed on a 2.5:1 slope.
Superintendent Martin Calderon and an 11 man crew are off to a strong start on this project. The crew has installed over 375,000 SF of GCL and 80mil HDPE geomembrane. Despite constant high winds and steep slopes, the crew is moving forward ahead of schedule and without incident. Keep up the great work!
