COMANCO has begun construction on the next cell at Republic Cedar Trail Landfill in Bartow, FL. This turn-key project includes 11.5 acres of cell subgrade hauled from an onsite borrow pit, installation of 6 layers of geosynethics, a tie-in to the existing liner system, installation of the leachate collection and leak detections systems, as well as the placement of the protective cover over the liner. The crew will also expand the stormwater system, including the installation of reinforced concrete pipes in the perimeter ditches.
The project team faces a very demanding schedule to complete the project, but is working diligently to complete the project safely and on time. The project team is led by Superintendent Bill Newman, Foreman Nathan Wilfong, Project Manager Dan McRae, and Project Engineer Craig Stevenson.
