COMANCO continues to be on schedule for a closure construction project in Central Florida despite the Florida Rains.

The last 10% of the 29-acre south pond is being final graded, and ¾’s of this pond has been lined behind the earth moving equipment. The north pond concurrently is being prepared for grading as the crew builds dikes to work from and creates ditches to dewater the wet gypsum. A middle dike, between the ponds, continues to be constructed with compaction in lifts.

As the wet season approaches, water is being managed with high capacity pumps so the crew can be consistent with the grading as we go. The efficient management of the ever-increasing rainwater allows for continued safe working conditions through and between rain events.
