A new group of COMANCO Field Employees completed their rigorous 2 week orientation training this week at COMANCO’s Plant City Headquarters. On their final day, the Excavator Operators were submerged into the future with a session in COMANCO’s John Deere Excavator Simulator. The Excavator Simulator consists of a Motion Platform, with an integrated computer display running the John Deere software. With Excavator controls plucked right from a 470 Excavator, the training platform is as real as you can get outside of a 470 cab.
The John Deere Excavator Operator Training Simulator helps to build the proficiency and confidence necessary for operation. The Simulator also aids in vetting new operator applicants in the job pipeline as well as setting benchmarks for performance on existing Operator employees. With highly detailed, realistic lessons, proper operator techniques and machine controls are taught seamlessly. After completing each chapter, operators receive immediate feedback based on their performance. This remedial training is accomplished on the simulator to keep Operators current without the additional expense of fuel or wear and tear on real equipment.
Scott Hall, COMANCO’s newest Superintendent, completed the simulator training with high grades in safety and no property damage. Scott felt the simulator was the way of the future here at COMANCO and noted the instruction received was reality based without risking real equipment. Utilizing advanced technology, COMANCO continues to lead the way with training, setting the bar high for others to follow.
