The COMANCO team started work today at the Harold J. “Babe” Landry Landfill in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. COMANCO has been contracted to tie into the existing landfill creating a new a cell. The scope of work consists of deploying a 60-mil Gundseal Liner (a GCL and HDPE liner unified system), a primary 60-mil HDPE textured liner layer, installing new leachate collection pipe, a new leachate collection sump and modifying four existing leachate collection sumps. The sump improvements include a unique fiberglass pipe telescoping design as shown in one of the pictures below.
