COMANCO Awarded Phase II EGC Closure Project at New River Regional Landfill
COMANCO is proud to announce the award of the New River Landfill EGC Closure Phase II Project, located at the New River Regional Landfill (NRRL) in Raiford, Florida.
Situated approximately 2.5 miles north of Raiford along State Road 121, NRRL is a Class I landfill operated by the New River Solid Waste Association (NRSWA). This project represents the next phase in the landfill’s Exposed Geomembrane Cover (EGC) closure system, permitted by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP).
Scope of Work
As part of Phase II, COMANCO will install approximately 21 acres of EGC closure system along the landfill’s side slopes, with grades reaching up to a 3H:1V slope. The scope of work includes installation of the toe drain system and all associated components required to complete the closure system.
COMANCO’s responsibilities include providing all labor, equipment, materials, and expertise necessary to execute the project safely and efficiently. This includes geotextile installation, drainage sand, trench gravel, HDPE piping, welding operations, and comprehensive quality control testing.
