COMANCO Awarded New River EGC Closure Phase II Project in Raiford, Florida
COMANCO is proud to announce the award of the New River EGC Closure Phase II project at the New River Regional Landfill (NRRL) in Raiford, Florida. This important environmental construction project continues COMANCO’s long-standing relationship with the New River Solid Waste Association (NRSWA) and further expands the landfill’s Exposed Geomembrane Cover (EGC) closure system.
Located approximately 2.5 miles north of Raiford along State Road 121, the New River Regional Landfill is a Class I landfill permitted and regulated by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). The New River EGC Closure Phase II project is designed to support long-term environmental protection, landfill performance, and regulatory compliance.
Scope of the New River EGC Closure Phase II Project
As part of the New River EGC Closure Phase II project, COMANCO will install approximately 21 acres of exposed geomembrane closure system along landfill side slopes with grades reaching up to 3H:1V. The project scope also includes installation of the toe drain collection system and all associated closure components necessary to complete this phase of work.
COMANCO will provide all labor, equipment, materials, and quality control services required for successful project execution. Key project activities include:
Geosynthetic Installation and Drainage Components
- Geotextile installation
- Drainage sand placement
- Trench gravel installation
- HDPE piping installation
- Geomembrane welding operations
- Comprehensive quality assurance and testing
