COMANCO Team Attends CONEXPO 2026 – Learning, Innovation, and Connection
This year, 14 COMANCO employees attended CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, the largest construction trade show in North America. The event brought together industry leaders, cutting-edge technology, educational sessions, and networking opportunities that continue to shape the future of construction.
For many of our team members, this was their first time attending, and the experience left a lasting impression.
First-Time Experience: Anthony Rikansrud
Anthony Rikansrud, Assistant Project Manager, attended CONEXPO for the first time and described the experience as “absolutely amazing.”
During the event, Anthony visited several vendor booths, including HCSS, Trimble Inc., and AGTEK Development Company. These conversations gave him the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about emerging construction technologies, including QA/QC solutions that support improved project documentation and field efficiency.
However, one of the most valuable parts of the event for Anthony was the opportunity to spend time with fellow COMANCO team members. Sitting down with executive leadership and veteran employees, he was able to learn more about the company’s history, how processes have evolved over the years, and how COMANCO has grown.
The conversations and connections made outside of the daily office environment were especially meaningful and, according to Anthony, one of the best parts of attending.
A Superintendent’s Perspective: Chad Kendall
Chad Kendall, Superintendent, also attended CONEXPO for the first time and shared how exciting the event was.
“It was everything you can dream about in the construction field,” Chad said.
With thousands of industry professionals and countless exhibits, Chad attended several sessions, including one focused on talent retention. The session shared statistics and practical strategies to help retain employees, emphasizing that even simple actions—like asking someone “How are you doing?”—can make a big difference in maintaining a strong team culture.
Chad was also impressed by the scale of the equipment displays and the rapid advancement of automation across the industry. Artificial Intelligence was a major focus, with many machines featuring automated capabilities. One standout for him was a fully automated skid steer, demonstrating the direction construction technology is heading.
He also spent time discussing potential equipment upgrades with colleagues and exploring ideas that could benefit future projects.
Returning to CONEXPO: William Newman
For William Newman, this was his second time attending CONEXPO, and his reaction was simple:
“Awesome!”
William found the training sessions especially informative. Sessions focused on working with different personalities and leadership styles provided practical insight into strengthening teams and improving employee retention.
He also enjoyed learning more about HCSS timecard creation and the competitive features within the platform that help keep crews engaged and motivated.
Building Connections Beyond the Show Floor
Beyond the exhibits and educational sessions, the team also participated in social dinners and networking events throughout the week. These gatherings helped strengthen relationships with both colleagues and industry partners.
Events like CONEXPO provide invaluable opportunities for our employees to learn, connect, and bring new ideas back to COMANCO.
We’re proud of the team members who represented COMANCO and look forward to applying the knowledge and insights they gained to continue building excellence in our industry.
