COMANCO’s New Employee Training Program Builds a Strong Foundation
At COMANCO, one of the things we are most proud of is our commitment to safety. Every new team member participates in a comprehensive new employee training program designed to provide the knowledge, certifications, and hands-on experience needed before entering the field.
This week-long training program helps prepare employees to work safely, confidently, and efficiently while supporting COMANCO’s commitment to Safety, Quality, and Service.
New Employee Training Includes Essential Certifications
COMANCO’s new employee training curriculum includes several industry-recognized certifications and safety courses, including:
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
- First Aid
- OSHA 10
- MSHA Training
- Florida Phosphate Training
- Mosaic Site Courses
These courses help employees understand workplace hazards, emergency response procedures, regulatory requirements, and best practices for maintaining safe job sites.
Hands-On Equipment Training Supports Field Readiness
In addition to classroom instruction, new employee training includes hands-on equipment task training provided by COMANCO’s experienced mechanics and equipment technicians.
This practical training introduces new team members to the specialized liner installation equipment used in the field and helps them better understand the services COMANCO provides throughout the environmental construction industry.
By combining classroom learning with hands-on experience, employees gain valuable insight into the equipment, processes, and responsibilities they will encounter on active project sites.
Safety Remains COMANCO’s Top Priority
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) works to prevent workplace injuries and fatalities by establishing and enforcing safety standards throughout the mining industry. COMANCO incorporates these standards into its Environmental, Health, and Safety Program to help ensure employees return home safely every day.
The program is designed to assist employees in recognizing hazards, following established safety procedures, and addressing potentially unsafe conditions before incidents occur.
Situational Awareness Prevents Accidents
A key component of COMANCO’s new employee training program is developing situational awareness. Employees are reminded that accidents often occur when hazards go unnoticed. Every employee is granted Stop Work Authority and encouraged to take action whenever unsafe conditions are identified.
More importantly, employees are trained to recognize potential hazards, evaluate risks, and make informed decisions that protect themselves and their coworkers.
