FPP MSHA Training Reinforces COMANCO’s Safety Culture

COMANCO Employees Complete Annual FPP MSHA Training

Last week, another group of COMANCO employees successfully completed FPP MSHA Training through the Florida Phosphate Producers (FPP) and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) refresher program. This annual training helps ensure employees maintain the certifications required to access phosphate mining operations, chemical plants, and Mosaic Florida facilities throughout the state.

The FPP MSHA Training program provides valuable instruction on site orientation, contractor requirements, workplace hazards, and industry best practices. Federal regulations require miners and contractors to complete refresher training annually, helping workers remain knowledgeable about current safety procedures and regulatory requirements.

Why FPP MSHA Training Matters

Safety Training and Consulting provided the 10-hour course, which satisfies all training requirements needed to maintain an active FPP Identification Card and MSHA certification. New employees complete the initial training program before receiving authorization to enter participating facilities, while existing employees attend refresher courses each year to remain compliant.

The FPP MSHA Training program helps workers recognize hazards, understand emergency procedures, and safely perform work in active mining and industrial environments. By investing in ongoing education, COMANCO ensures employees are equipped with the knowledge needed to make safe decisions every day.

COMANCO’s Commitment to Employee Safety

At COMANCO, Safety is one of the company’s three core values. Every employee’s health and well-being remain a top priority, which is reflected in the company’s strong safety performance and proactive safety culture.

COMANCO supports workplace safety through:

  • Providing ongoing safety education and training
  • Promoting proactive hazard identification
  • Recognizing employees who demonstrate safe work habits
  • Establishing leadership-driven safety initiatives
  • Utilizing mobile safety reporting tools to share lessons learned

These efforts contribute to improved productivity, higher quality work, stronger employee morale, and increased customer confidence.

Creating a Strong Safety Culture

Effective safety programs require participation from every level of the organization. COMANCO leaders provide resources, establish safety objectives, and set expectations for safe work practices. Employees are encouraged to communicate concerns, report hazards, and recommend improvements that strengthen workplace safety.

Every COMANCO employee has Stop Work Authority when unsafe conditions are identified. Team members are trained to recognize hazards, evaluate risks, and take action before incidents occur.

Safety Training Supports Better Project Outcomes

The key to accident prevention is situational awareness. Through programs like FPP MSHA Training, COMANCO employees gain the skills needed to identify potential hazards and make informed decisions in the field.

Offering these training opportunities demonstrates COMANCO’s ongoing commitment to Safety, Quality, and Service. For customers, this commitment translates into fewer incidents, greater productivity, reduced project risk, and successful project execution.

At COMANCO, Safety will always be our first concern.
