Just this past week, COMANCO completed the installation of a leachate collection line on a landfill expansion project in Central Florida. The 4-man crew assigned to this task was led by Superintendent Jorge Barrantes. The work consisted of fusion welding nearly 1,500LF of 8-inch HDPE perforated pipe and then placing 1,000TN of drainage gravel over the pipe. The entire drainage system was wrapped in 31,000SF of 8oz geotextile. Each weld was performed with a Mcelroy Data Logger to ensure a quality weld was made.
Across the job-site, Superintendent Chase Yarbrough and Foreman Matt Carroll were leading a crew that completed prep work around a new pump station that is scheduled for installation They utilized a GPS Trimble system to verify the location and elevation of each key point around the pad. All of this work was successfully completed with no incidents despite battling the beginning of the rainy season here in Florida.
